Ascend Hackathon

The Challenge: Turning Complexity into Clarity

Autonomous agents are reshaping the enterprise, but an agent is only as intelligent as the data it consumes. Without grounded, accurate context, even the most advanced agents fail.

We invite developers, engineers, and visionaries to solve this challenge. The Ascend Hackathon calls on you to build the next generation of AI agents that leverage ABBYY’s purpose-built Document AI and Process AI.

We want to see how you use ABBYY technology to give agents the "eyes" to read complex documents and the "brains" to understand dynamic processes. Whether you are automating a financial workflow, transforming customer onboarding, or building a completely new agentic use case, we want to see your code in action.

Why Participate?

This is more than a coding competition. It is an opportunity to validate your skills on a global stage and define the standards for intelligent automation.

  • Gain Global Recognition: Finalists solution will be shown on stage directly to industry leaders and peers at ABBYY Ascend 2026.
  • Win the ABBYY Hackathon Award: The winning team will receive an Award on the main stage, along with exclusive networking opportunities.
  • Access Expert Mentorship: Participants receive access to ABBYY’s engineering experts and product leaders for guidance on best practices and architectural patterns.
  • Validate Your Innovation: Prove your solution works. Demonstrate how your agent handles real-world complexity with the precision of purpose-built AI.

What We Are Looking For

We are looking for functional, innovative applications of agentic automation that utilize ABBYY technology as a core component.

Focus Areas

Hybrid Intelligence

Solutions that combine the reasoning capabilities of Large Language Models (LLMs) with the factual grounding of ABBYY’s structured data to eliminate hallucinations.

Submission Guidelines

To qualify, your submission must be completed online and meet the following criteria:

  • Tech Stack: Your solution must integrate at least one ABBYY product (Vantage, Timeline, or FineReader Engine).
  • Video Demonstration: Submit a video (max 5 minutes) demonstrating the agent in action, highlighting the specific role ABBYY technology plays in the workflow.
  • Repository Access: Share a link to your code repository (GitHub/GitLab) for review by our technical judges.

Deadline for Submissions:

  • Nashville, US: April 5, 2026
  • Brussels, Belgium: April 27, 2026

Ready to Build?

The future of automation belongs to those who can master the data. Show the world what happens when you combine agentic ambition with purpose-built intelligence.
